The team of Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake (The Mega-Maniacs) aimed to bankrupt Money Inc. (Irwin R. Schyster and Ted DiBiase) by taking their Tag Team Championships. However, IRS and DiBiase had planned ahead, attacking their opponents prior to the match. Beefcake was forced to wear a protective face mask and Hogan was left with the most iconic black eye in pro-wrestling, which bizarrely spread to his eyeball.

Much of the match’s early tension came from Beefcake being isolated by Money Inc. while Hogan looked on in frustration. When the tide turned, the heels attempted to leave but were stopped by the announcement that they would lose their titles if counted out. They reluctantly rushed back to the ring. Money Inc. resumed their dirty tactics but were ultimately outclassed and outsmarted by their opponents.

The DQ:

When referee Danny Davis was knocked out, Jimmy Hart flew into action, turning his blazer inside out to reveal a convenient black and white stripe pattern. Hart officiated a three count and declared The Mega-Maniacs the new Tag Team Champions. However, Davis reversed the decision. Money Inc. sloped off with a DQ win and the belts.
