10 Ways Great Balls Of Fire Can Be WWE's Best Show Of The Year

9. Adding Goldust Vs. R-Truth

Neville vs. Akira Tozawa is the only match to be confirmed for the Great Balls Of Fire Kickoff Show thus far. This suggests they’ll get plenty of time to put on an excellent conest, but if WWE really want to stack Sunday night’s card, they’d do well to add the one lower midcard feud that remains absent.

Goldust vs. R-Truth isn’t a bout that’s going to set the world alight, but adding it to the PPV make sense. They’ve spent the past few weeks clashing with one another, and this is Raw’s last major show before SummerSlam. This means that the feud’s next logical blow-off point is well over a month away, but there’s no need to stretch it out for so long.

Let the former tag partners settle their differences on Sunday, then have Goldust move on to bigger things. The eldest Rhodes brother might be 48, but he’s one of the most underrated performers in WWE history, and still a great worker despite his advancing years. Putting him over Truth before embarking on one last glory run makes great sense, and GBOF is the perfect launchpad.
