8. Neville's Epic Reign Continues

Few WWE wrestlers have been pushed as strongly as Neville in 2017. ‘The King Of The Cruiserweights’ has dominated 205 Live, putting on great matches with the likes of Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries throughout the year, all without taking a clean singles loss. He’s on fire, and as long as the Cruiserweight Championship is around his waist, he’ll continue to feel like one of the company’s most important competitors.

He’ll face Akira Tozawa on Sunday, and it should be a great match. They’re both extremely talented, and they fought countless times in Japan prior to joining WWE, so chemistry is guaranteed. If WWE give them time, there’s no reason it can’t be the Cruiserweight division’s strongest bout since last year’s return, particularly if they avoid a dusty finish with Titus O’Neil.

Neville retaining is the ideal outcome here. Tozawa is great, but the Geordie is closing in on six months atop the division, and there’s absolutely no reason to cut his run short. He is the division’s ace, and 205’s standard-bearer: without him, there’d be very little reason to watch the brand, and having him triumph would be the perfect way to end the Kickoff Show on a high.
