10 Ways To Make The WWE Product More Like Sports

7. Add A League Element

31958628 Right now WWE is a collection of random matches that stem from personal feuds. It isn't sporting, it's more of a Hollywood goodie versus baddie story. One way for WWE to change this would be to add a sport structure such as a league. This would give compelling reasons for wrestlers to fight, it would add meaning to contests. It could be done in the quieter non-WrestleMania season. Run the league from May with it culminating at November's Survivor Series. Everyone on the roster would face each other twice, with the big clashes happening on pay per view. It would be three points for a win and the wrestler with the most points at the end of the year would win the League Title. It would give a sport perception and make for compelling storytelling. Imagine toward the end of the season when the top three wrestler are neck and neck, imagine how much the last few matches of the season would mean. It would be unmissable live television, exactly what WWE are promising to the Networks.
