8. More Focused And Productive Show

WWE.comWith only an hour of broadcast time at its disposal, NXT has to get the absolute most out of every match and segment on its show. It cannot afford to have a throwaway match between two guys eternally trapped in the midcard like Raw tends to feature. Instead, every wrestler, match and backstage segment has a purpose. Those segments may build to a feud-concluding bout or a major championship match. Others may help hype an upcoming two-hour live event. Whatever the case may be, they ensure that every episode is meaningful. A match as seemingly unimportant as the one between Bull Dempsey and Xavier Woods that aired this past week (June 26) serves two purposes: One, it introduces the crowd to Dempsey, who appears poised for a relatively significant push. Two, it set up a Woods-CJ Parker feud, as seen prior to the bell. In one segment, NXT accomplished two things that will play a role in future episodes. That is very definition of getting the absolute most of your time. With so much time to fill, Raw oftentimes is littered with filler. No disrespect is meant to the likes of Titus O'Neil, Heath Slater, Los Matadores or any of the other hard-working men and women that appear on WWE's flagship show but they are Superstars who feel like time fillers. As a result, it is easy to become disinterested in the overall presentation because the time between the meaningful matches and segments is plentiful.
