From all of the online reports out there, Paul Heyman is extremely high on Drew McIntyre.

By all accounts and purposes, Heyman was pushing for McIntyre or Aleister Black to emerge victorious in the men's Royal Rumble match - with the nod eventually going to the Scottish Psychopath.

After being bigged up as Vince McMahon's Chosen One during his first WWE run, Drew McIntyre's initial stint with the company ended in a whimper as he played air guitar and took comedy bumps in a Wee-L-C match. Reinventing himself on the independent circuit and in Impact Wrestling, Drew somehow managed to make himself one of the most talked about wrestlers on the planet before he re-signed with WWE.

Even after becoming white hot outside of WWE, there was doubt at just how much the company would get behind McIntyre once he made his return. A spell as NXT Champion and a run as Dolph Ziggler's muscle looked as good as it was going to get for the former Intercontinental Champion. Until now, that is.

With a smartly executed babyface turn and a Royal Rumble win, Drew McIntyre is now viewed as one of the biggest names in WWE and finds himself heading to WrestleMania 36 to face WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. And for that, a large thanks has to go to Paul Heyman and his faith in the Scot.
