5. Destined For The Midcard
If you thought that Dolph Zigger entering at #30 would have any sort of significance in the Royal Rumble match, think again! Despite the fact that Survivor series put him back on track to becoming a main event talent, he was taken out with ease by Kane and Big Show. No one is saying he deserved to win, but imagine the excitement of seeing him make it to the final two or three? At least that way there would have been a glimmer of hope! The same applies to Dean Ambrose. After proving himself in the main event of Hell in a Cell alongside Seth Rollins and in a string of impressive matches with Bray Wyatt, he too appeared to be destined for great things, but was eliminated with little fanfare. Inevitably, it's hard to escape the feeling then that the powers that be have already decided that guys like Ambrose and Ziggler are not going to find themselves anywhere other than the midcard. Despite the incredible talents of both these men, their decline in recent months has been obvious to see, and based on the Royal Rumble match, that won't change.
