10 Ways The Move To TV Has Ruined WWE NXT

7. TakeOver Feels Less Special

A controversial suggestion, but one that can be backed up perfectly.

For the past few years, TakeOver has been what every NXT fan salivated at. Regardless of what was going on in the wider world, you could always count on a TakeOver to distract for a couple of hours. The quality of the matches never failed to disappoint, and even matches that fans would've typically written off - The Undisputed Era vs. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch at TakeOver: Chicago II being a prime example - proved doubters wrong.

That's where the problem lies, though, within the quality of NXT's matches.

The matches themselves aren't bad for the most part. In fact, there's a fair collection of them that are truly extraordinary. However, these out of this world matches used to be reserved for TakeOver, with only one or two exceptions (such as Finn Bálor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in July 2016). Nowadays, it doesn't matter if it's a weekly show or a TakeOver, there's a strong possibility of a barnstormer.

More outstanding wrestling isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it was what made TakeOver feel so special. Near enough every match on a TakeOver card left you wanting more, and while that is still more or less the case, you can't deny that matches like the recent Iron Man Match take something away from what could have been a strong TakeOver main event.
