10 Ways The WWE Title Can Rebuild Its Tarnished Legacy

9. Rebuild Around Great Wrestlers

Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal isn't an objectively terrible performer. The content stinks, but his promo delivery is usually passable, and he at least carries himself like a champion, even if he lacks legitimacy. Put him between the ropes, however, and the man is atrocious, as evidenced by each of his WWE Title matches to date.

'The Modern Day Maharaja' moves like a broken action figure. Slow, clunky, and uncoordinated, he's an '80s-style preliminary worker in an era of high drama and hyper-athleticism. He's easily one of the company's least engaging in-ring performers, and if WWE really want to move away from his reign, they'll re-populate SmackDown's main event scene with great workers.

They certainly have the personnel for it. AJ Styles is one of, if not the, best wrestlers in the world, and so is Shinsuke Nakamura when the mood takes him. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are both in the upper percentile, and guys like Rusev, Big E, and Luke Harper aren't far behind either.

The likes of Harper and Rusev would need extended builds, but each of these names could wrestle circles around Mahal, and make welcome additions to the division.
