10 Ways This Has Been The Best WWE WrestleMania Build In YEARS!

6. Incredible Factions

Did WWE take inspiration from AEW when it came to its renewed focus on factions? Almost certainly, but when the results are this good it's hard to argue against the method. As the saying goes, talent borrows, genius steals, and by cribbing from AEW's homework WWE is graduating with top honours at the University of Professional Wrestling.

It doesn't take a wrestling savant to see that WWE has struck gold with its factions over the past few years. Bayley's creation of, and betrayal by, Damage CTRL has resulted in the strongest story the women's division has told in years; Judgment Day is a heat-creating, merch-shifting juggernaut; and the Bloodline has been the most dominant faction in wrestling since the days of the Four Horsemen - and with the addition of The Rock, they're more high-profile than ever.

Although each faction was part of WrestleMania 39, the build-up to their matches was a mixed bag, to say the least. Damage CTRL were stuck in a strangely heatless feud against retired legends Trish Stratus and Lita; Judgment Day's storylines were part-great (Dominik vs. Rey Mysterio), part-terrible (Rhea vs. Charlotte); and in hindsight, Cody's feud against the Bloodline never reached its full potential.

This year, each faction has a storyline worthy of the talent involved, and it's made this year's WrestleMania the most anticipated one in years.
