10 Ways This Has Been The Best WWE WrestleMania Build In YEARS!

3. Well-Written Babyfaces

It's so much easier to root for babyfaces when they've got brains in their heads.

While it's important for babyfaces to be likeable, audiences also need to know they're not rooting for an ineffectual moron. WWE's previous tendency to make its supposed heroes look like chumps doomed Bayley's initial run as a babyface on the main roster, and in hindsight Cody Rhodes' blatant antagonism of Solo Sikoa made the former look foolish when the latter prevented him from winning the big one at WrestleMania 39.

This year, however, things are different. Cody has been booked as a smarter, more experienced gunslinger this time round (although certainly not an invincible one - more on that later), and Bayley's recent face turn has been booked to perfection.

Damage CTRL turning on Bayley could have made this year's Royal Rumble winner look like a gullible moron, but WWE went out of its way to make Bayley look as good as possible during the process. Take the Smackdown episode where Damage CTRL pulled the trigger on their former leader, where Bayley knew it was coming, but she took the high road and tried to hash out their differences face to face. Damage CTRL responded by beating her down from behind, thus cementing them as the loathsome heels and Bayley as the wronged babyface.

And Bayley's recent beatdown of IYO was *chef's kiss*. A good hero needs to stand up for themselves, and Bayley's vicious assault on IYO cemented the fact that this version of Bayley is worlds apart from the inept Hugger of yesteryear.
