10 Ways TNA/Impact Was Great For The Wrestling Business

3. The Wrestler's Escape

When other promotions become too much to handle, sometimes wrestlers (and, admittedly, fans) need a place to escape to.

As much as you can rag on TNA for its over-reliance on veterans, at least they were giving some wrestlers who still deserved it a home. Guys like Christian and Bobby Lashley left WWE having been dead in the water, and completely revitalized their careers upon Impact. Others, such as Jeff Hardy, were able to keep their love of wrestling going after burning out on WWE and suffering from personal demons. And of course, without TNA, would we have ever seen Sting wrestle again?

And in general, TNA has the ability to be a decent escape for the average fan of WWE from time to time. While a promotion like New Japan Pro Wrestling contrasts heavily in style and performance, TNA doesn't feel like it's that different from the competition.

Every now and then, everyone could use a break from Vince McMahon, and TNA has always been that branch you can cling onto before hitting the ground.
