10 Ways To Book Kurt Angle's WWE Return
7. A Part-Time Legends Deal
This might be WWE’s most logical use for Kurt Angle at this stage in his career. The Olympic Hero’s body has endured a horrendous amount of wear and tear throughout his career, and his (broken freaking) neck problems are well-documented. There’s a strong chance he just can’t hold-up to the physical toll that a full-time schedule would entail, but that shouldn’t prevent him from filling in on a part-time basis.
Angle could be used in a similar way to The Rock, or Hulk Hogan prior to his sextape-induced blacklisting. WWE can reel him out for a crowd-pleasing moment whenever they need a ratings spike on an episode or Raw or for a big pay-per-view moment, and keep him relevant to the modern day product without interfering with their ongoing storylines.
The caveat to this is that WWE don’t have the best track record with their special guests, particularly when it comes to using them with younger talent. Rock’s six-second win over Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 serves as the most recent example of a former star putting himself over a current wrestler for no good reason at all, and the last thing we need is more of that. Still, if WWE can use a part-time Kurt to benefit the current roster rather than take their heat away, a Legends deal is an excellent option.
