Kurt Angle loves American Alpha, and American Alpha love Kurt Angle. Jason Jordan has referred to him as a “huge inspiration” in the past, and Kurt has previously said he’d love to work with the popular duo. He even floated the idea of a new “Team Angle” with American Alpha last summer, and with Jordan and Gable currently tearing it up on SmackDown, their union would make perfect sense.
All three men come from decorated amateur wrestling backgrounds, and while Chad Gable isn’t a gold medalist, he did represent the USA at the 2012 Olympic Games. Furthermore, Alpha wrestle a style that’s incredibly similar to Angle’s former proteges Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, and even the American Hero himself. The trio would be like peas in a pod, and this option will likely be high on WWE’s list should Kurt eventually return to television.
Angle doesn’t even need to wrestle with Jordan and Gable. He’d be perfectly acceptable in a managerial role, particularly given the current lack of microphone time afforded to American Alpha on SmackDown. Put them together, and the group’s popularity would only increase. Gable and Jordan don’t need Angle’s services to become one of the best tag teams of their generation, but it’d certainly do no harm.
