1. The Matches Are Better

Steve Austin and The Rock, could absolutely tear it up in the ring, and the main event scene almost always delivered during the golden years of The Attitude Era, but the undercard wrestlers of that time likely wouldn't have much success in this modern era, as many of them just couldn't keep up with today's best.

Half of their mid-card would stick out badly for their work now, and fans would be upset. The Godfather, Steve Blackman, The Mean Street Posse, The Blue Meanie, The Headbangers, Too Cool, Mideon, Viscera, Sean Stasiak, The Big Bossman, Albert, Bull Buchanon, Test and quite a few others wouldn't fare well in the ring in the era of Cesaro, A.J. Styles, Zayn, Owens and Neville

Sure, The Big Show, Kane, and Mark Henry are still around, but their roles are greatly diminished. There's people like Braun Strowman and Eva Marie who are likely never going to deliver a four star match (or possibly a two star one) but, overall, nearly any battle on Raw or SmackDown has the potential to deliver something highly watchable.

Now if you'll excuse me, Gangrel and D'Lo are calling my name...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
