10 Ways Today's WWE Is Better Than The Attitude Era

2. The Women's Division Is Finally Credible

Women were largely employed by the WWF in the Attitude Era to either be paraded out as eye candy, or t0 play comedy roles (if they were over 70). While the era of Trish Stratus and Lita certainly had its moments, the rest of the division was filled with so much sexism, and so many terrible athletes, that the contrast between then and today is simply astounding.

Just look at some of the Women's Title holders during that time: The Fabulous Moolah, The Kat, Stephanie McMahon and Hervina, who was a man in drag! Outside of that, we'd have to suffer through some B.B, Debra McMichael and Terri Runnels 'matches'.

Of course, that era for women is sadly mostly remembered for evening gown matches, bra and panties matches, mud matches, paddle on a pole matches and a bunch of other bouts that more closely resembled softcore porn than an athletic contest. Nothing of the sort happens like that today.

Things have drastically taken a turn for the better over the past few years especially, and it's hard to argue that Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch aren't just as capable as any man on the roster of stealing the show.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
