10 Ways Wrestlers Faces Were Altered Forever Because Of Wrestling

8. D-Von Dudley’s Gnarled Forehead

There are lots of grapples who suffer from enduring deep scars on their foreheads from blading too much back in the day. Sabu from his barbaric barbed wire battles, Dusty Rhodes from his bloody bullrope encounters, Abdullah the Butcher from his whole career (it’s been said his scars are so deep he can fit playing cards and gambling chips into them).

Blading has been entirely cut out (ah, accidental puns!) of WWE and for the big-time promotions who still adopt blading for major feuds/matches thankfully they now take mat hygiene and testing stringently serious.

As far as wrestlers who were still active and wrestling for a major company in the last five years, D-Von Dudley’s forehead stands out from years of blading in the hardcore asylum that was Extreme Championship Wrestling in the ‘90s. D-Von and his kayfabe brother Bubba Ray Dudley made themselves into stars as The Dudley Boyz, cursing and cussing at local crowds and dishing out hardcore violence in their matches.

D-Von’s leftover scars are clearly visible today, especially from his lack of hair and age. D-Von should know all too well the dangers of blading, having been one of the wrestlers in the notorious Mass Transit incident in ECW where New Jack pummelled and cut into a rookie wrestler, severing two arteries.
