10 Ways Wrestling Business Could Be Changed Forever By Current World Events

9. All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite's Lead Over NXT Is Likely To Be Solidified

While Survivor Series drastically increased interest in NXT last year, that's the only time WWE's Wednesday night show has managed to defeat All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite in terms of ratings. Since then, the newly launched company has won the day on TNT on a weekly basis, but what's happening now could essentially end the Wednesday Night Wars.

This week's Dynamite decimated NXT with 932,000 viewers compared to 542,000. WWE's show featured no live wrestling (after Monday's RAW had only one match, word leaked that the company doesn't like the optics of Superstars competing in an empty arena), whereas AEW's boasted plenty of memorable bouts.

Well, while RAW and SmackDown can survive with appearances from big names like The Undertaker and Goldberg, NXT's big draw is the quality matches. If that in-ring work is going to be M.I.A. for the foreseeable future, those still choosing WWE over AEW will soon have to turn elsewhere every Wednesday night, and that's bound to establish Dynamite as the dominant show.
