4. Get Behind The Babyfaces

It’s often said that WWE struggle to create new stars in the modern era, and this is particularly true on the babyface side of the roster. The company haven’t built a genuinely heroic figure since Daniel Bryan’s rise, and his popularity was a total accident from the company’s side. Unfortunately, WWE have to lost their way when it comes to building believable good guys, and they’ve ran some of their most popular wrestlers into the ground.

Nobody exemplifies this better than Bayley. Once a white-hot babyface commodity, she has become a laughing stock on Raw, and her crowd reactions have turned to complete indifference. Sami Zayn is suffering a similar fate on SmackDown, albeit to a lesser extent, while the wrestlers pushed as WWE’s “top faces” are rarely heroic, and often as detestable as the apparent “bad guys.”

It’s hard to get invested in wrestling when you have nobody to root for, and while this vast problem would require more than just a single summer to rectify, it’s about time WWE approach the issue. The Zayns and Bayleys of the world shouldn’t be treated as punching bags for the heels, but stars in their own right.
