While the WWE has always been the wrestling company for the Indian fans, except for the tiny bit in the late 90s with WCW being a legitimate alternative, for the most part the company has coasted on reputation alone and done very little in terms of brand building. But with the expanding operational reach, the company would need to invest a lot of time and effort in the same, especially now given UFCs surging popularity which hasnt gone unnoticed by the company. With its entertainment quotient and larger-than-life characters, the WWE doesnt really have to worry about the kids being swayed anytime soon. The adult demographic in India is a big segment and one segment that predominantly consumes only cricket. With the success of Indian Premier League (A cricketing spectacle) highlighting the importance of entertainment and spectacle in Indian sport, WWE should take note of the same and capitalize on its appeal through an enlarged media presence and mainstream exposure.
