10 Ways WWE Can Save Its Floundering Product

5. You're Not An Infomercial

When you watch Raw, Smackdown, Main Event, etc, you're inundated with discussions about things like the WWE Network and the WWE mobile app on commentary. They're constantly trying to tell you how to download this or partake in that. I have one simple question... Who the hell is that for?!? The WWE Network has been live for three months (in countries where it hasn't been rolled out yet, there are ways around that, and you've already learned how to start watching when you do acquire the Network, legally or not). The mobile app is a few years old at this point. Let's say you haven't downloaded the app or purchased the Network yet. Chances are, it's for a good reason and you aren't going to. Again, yes, there are numerous countries outside of the United States that don't have access to the Network as of yet (word is that they'll be waiting until the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015), but the near-constant barrage of Network ads aren't for them, as they're telling people to sign up today. Who is sitting at home, without the WWE Network, still contemplating it? You know what it is by now. You know what features are there. You know what old programming is on it. You know what new programming is on it. Something tells me that "I don't care what's already on there. If a new season of Tough Enough isn't there, I'm not ordering it." isn't being said or thought right now. Hey, WWE, cut that out. You morons are running how-to-order-the-WWE-Network ads... on the WWE Network. Think about that for a moment. Stop treating your television airtime like you're an infomercial, constantly repeating yourself and trying to sell people things. It's yet another reason that people want to tune out. I imagine the same can be said for using Raw and Smackdown to try and further lame storylines from a fake "reality" show like Total Divas, too.
