10 Ways WWE Can Still Salvage 2019
6. Survivor Series Stakes
As WWE desperately seek to find a way of escaping the rut they have booked themselves into, it is only apt that the most nonsensical of all of the 'big four' PPVs is just around the corner.
In recent years, the company has muddled together a daft brand loyalty/supremacy narrative that showed no signs of existing before or after the November show. The entire night is dedicated to deciding which brand is the better of the two, but does anyone - talent included - really care?
Last year's only saving grace was another seed of Becky Lynch's rise to the top being planted in her Raw invasion, which resulted in a broken nose image that only cemented her status as a star.
That blip aside, Survivor Series has struggled for stakes or drama in recent years and the injection of some would definitely make for a must-see event, rather than just another flaccid one night scoreboard.
If, for example, the winning team earned their brand the Main Event slot at WrestleMania or more entries into the Royal Rumble match than the other show, it would at least give each competitor a storyline impetus to want to win their match for their team - rather than just because it's Survivor Series.
We can't wait until WrestleMania season every year for the product to become bearable again and a small incentive could add a bit more fire to a damp squib of a wrestling period.
