10 Ways WWE Can Turn Around Its Ratings Woes

5. Make Wrestling Mainstream Again

RAW and NXT air on the USA Network, while SmackDown is on FOX. Those are two major stations so what's up with the lack of crossovers? We saw some of that when the blue brand moved to network television but it feels like the days of wrestlers showing up in TV shows is a thing of the past and that's gone a long way in isolating wrestling.

WWE does its best to be considered mainstream but the company needs to let talent take more acting gigs because that will open the door to viewers being intrigued enough to follow these larger than life personalities back to where they hail from. The company also needs to be more open to outside opportunities because All Elite Wrestling did a great job of bridging the gap between genres after taking advantage of Time Warner's links to franchises like Batman and Rick and Morty last year.

WWE can tout articles in publications like Rolling Stone and Sports Illustrated as much as they like but they're still missing the "cool" factor and that means coming up with ways to connect with youthful brands and grabbing the attention of non-wrestling fans in the process.
