On the 27th of January, 2014, just the day after the Royal Rumble and less than a month until the release of the WWE Network, C.M. Punk, one of the WWE's top stars, walked out on the company and hasn't been heard from since. We can sit here and continue to argue on whether Punk is in the right, if he is acting like a child, or even if the WWE should forget him completely. The major issue here is that being one of the top stars of the company is not gone, the WWE has fans mad at how he was handled and how they are less likely to purchase the Network. Since his return at Payback last June, Punk has been stuck in the upper-mid-card pit. While he did compete for the Money in the Bank briefcase, he hadn't gotten close to the title picture since his loss to the Rock at last year's Elimination Chamber. Punk was arguably fed up with his position and left. With that, grew the already-negativity following the Royal Rumble to a new level. The fanbase of the WWE is ever changing. Now more than ever, we the fans are the ones who decide who to cheer for and who to boo. We have more power now than ever. One of the focal points are our power was with Punk and he is now gone. I am not saying Vince and Triple H should have succumbed to Punk's demands and given him the Main Event at Wrestlemania 30. However, they should have been able to qualm the storm of Punk and allowed him the opportunity to fight out his current contract. If he would have just gone that and left in June of this year, this issues wouldn't be so huge. If that would have happened, fans would be debating when Punk would resign, plus we would have gotten one last Wrestlemania moment out of him. Now, we get nothing and the fans feel cheated.
I am a recent college graduate who loves everything about sports and look to spread my opinions to those who will listen. My passion for the art of pro wrestling has been vast ever since 2011 when C.M. Punk dropped his "Pipebomb" in Las Vegas and hasn't dropped since.
