10 Ways WWE Fumbled The Network Launch

6. Including Wrestlemania In The Network

Wrestlemania 30 When the Network was announced, it was made known that you would receive all the pay-per-views within the Network, including Wrestlemania. While an amazing treat to the fans, it is nothing but negative to the WWE itself. This issue is essential about money. Wrestlemania provides the company the biggest payday of the year. Now, that is gone for the better of the Network, but not the better of the company. Let me give you a scenario. With the given six month commitment of $9.99 a month which adds up to roughly $60, would you have purchased a subscription? I would have. Not only do I get all of the amazing content of the past, but I get to see all of the pay-per-views at that price, I would be stupid not to. In that time, we get roughly six pay-per-views. At $45 for everyone except Wrestlemania at $55, that would normally cost $280 and that doesn't include the other content. We would save $220 as fans doing this. That also means the WWE losing that much money. Although they would probably make up most of that difference with more people signing up for the Network, I can't help but feel most people would still sign up without the addition of Wrestlemania. The normal cost of the other 5 pay-per-views would be $225, still saving us $165. With this, most people would pay for the telecast of Wrestlemania at the price of $55. This problem just comes down to pure dollar and cents. The WWE will make a lot off the Network if worked correctly. However, they missed an opportunity to make even more with it.
