7. Major Announcements

Think back to some of the biggest surprises, announcements, and returns in the history of Monday Night Raw. With a rich history of nearly quarter of a century, there's no shortage of them.

Remember Vince McMahon announcing Eric Bischoff as the new RAW General Manager in 2002? How about the return of Triple H in Madison Square Garden or the 2011 return of The Rock? And who could forget the Raw/Nitro simulcast that featured the announcement of Vince McMahon purchasing WCW.

These iconic moments were made to feel important in part because they all took place on Monday Night RAW, the premier WWE program. Many fans probably even remember where they were when some of these major developments took place.

Today, RAW is no longer the sole place for major happenings and developments. If WWE has something major to announce in 2016, they typically use Twitter to make the reveal.

John Cena's return, Goldberg's return, and Daniel Bryan's retirement are just a few examples of major announcements that WWE has made on Twitter this year rather than waiting to make the reveal on Raw.

Whether or not this tactic is more beneficial to sitting on information and waiting to make the announcement(s) on Raw is a point of contention. Regardless, Twitter isn't going away and neither are WWE's major announcements on the platform.
