10 Ways WWE Have Shot Themselves In The Foot At WrestleMania 31
7. Bringing Daniel Bryan Back Too Early
Daniel Bryans ascent from the supposed weak link in a comedy tag-team to a generation defining main-event wrestler was one of the most captivating stories in recent WWE history. When he was forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, fans around the world were devastated but while he left to recover, they didnt forget about him and were eagerly anticipating the opportunity to cheer him again. As 2014 prepared to become 2015, Daniel Bryan returned to WWE and announced he was entering himself in the Royal Rumble, which was a cause of celebration for his fans. After the mistake WWE made not entering him in the previous Rumble, it seemed there was surely no way theyd make that mistake again. Alas, they made that mistake again, and Daniel Bryan was unceremoniously knocked off the apron by Bray Wyatt, which caused the crowd to turn on the entire match. This begs the question, why bring back Daniel Bryan for the Royal Rumble if the plan wasnt to have him win it? WWE cant be so short-sighted as to think that wouldnt go down like a lead balloon, and it was the first major misstep on the Road To WrestleMania. Fans wanted Daniel Bryan back, but no-one expected him back any time soon and if they waited until the night after WrestleMania, they could have saved themselves a great deal of grief.
