10 WCW Cruiserweight Matches You Should Watch

8. 3-Count V. Karagias/Noble V. Yung Dragons - Starrcade 2000

This match is on everyone’s Top 10 Cruiserweight matches and for a damn good reason. The match, a predecessor to Money in the Bank and for Number 1 Contendership of the Cruiserweight Title, is about the only thing that saved Starrcade 2000 from total disaster. In fact, only one other match on the event got higher than 3 stars from Meltzer.

The six men in this match really worked to redefine what it meant to be a Cruiserweight in WCW. In a boring era of Scott Steiner, Sid, Kevin Nash, and Jeff Jarrett holding onto the World Title, the three teams decided that a ridiculous spotfest was the only way to really have this match. From balancing ladders on ropes to jumping neckbreakers off said ladders, the spots were something wrestling fans hadn’t seen in a match like this before.

Nearly fifteen minutes and one ladder scaffold later, 3-Count decided to pull the contract down simultaneously to face Chavo Guerrero, Jr. the next night on Nitro. If you haven’t seen what was the one of the largest spotfest in WCW history, you should go catch it next time you're bored on the WWE Network.
