10 WCW Managers You Totally Don’t Remember

7. The Master

Nobody involved in WCW creative during the mid-90s will ever live the 'Dungeon Of Doom' angle down. It all started as an "alliance to end Hulkamania", but the stable grew arms and legs; literally, DOD recruited countless members between 1995-1997, and they all had over-the-top, wacky gimmicks.

Feared brawler and wrestling legend 'King' Curtis Iaukea might be the most obscure.

He acted as 'The Master' in '95, and his main purpose was to guide Kevin Sullivan through the dark arts of eradicating Hulk Hogan "forever" (when wrestling heels say that, they usually fail). This 'Master' sat on a crummy prop throne like an extra from the He-Man universe and barked orders at his subordinates.

It was all rather embarrassing, yet somehow also endearing in a car crash telly kind of way. Iaukea's character gave way to Sullivan as the core braintrust behind the Dungeon though. By the time calendars flicked to 1996, he was pretty much on the outs.
