10. The Shockmaster's Debut
August 18th, 1993 will forever be an embarrassing day for Fred Ottman. At a live Clash Of The Champions special, Ottman was set to make his onscreen debut at the intimidating character, The Shockmaster. Unfortunately, things would go horrendously wrong for the guy, and he'd literally fall flat on his face in front of everyone watching. His career would never recover. Ever since the incident, no wrestling fan watching has been able to forget it. When YouTube came to be years later, the clip instantly became more popular. The character was supposed to be a huge babyface, but would end up being a running joke. The Shockmaster was set to team with Sting, Davey Boy Smith and Dustin Rhodes at the upcoming Fall Brawl Pay-Per-View. In the 'War Games' match, Shockmaster still played a part, but the gimmick was killed by the fall. According to the late, great Dusty Rhodes, a production worker had fixed the phony wall he burst through during rehearsals. Putting a plank of wood across the bottom, Ottman tripped over it when it was time for his big moment.
