10 WCW Moments That Still Haunt Wrestling Fans

7. Goldberg's Streak Is Broken

Bill Goldberg was a true phenomenon for World Championship Wrestling. Making his debut in late-1997, the man quickly shot up the ladder to become one of the most popular stars under contract. Amassing a winning streak that made it easy for fans to get behind him, Goldberg was fed almost everybody on the roster during his route to the top. Over one year after his debut, the man's huge winning streak was brought to an end. Kevin Nash was chosen as the guy to end that victorious run, pinning Goldberg at Starrcade 1998. Scott Hall interfered on his partner's behalf, shocking Goldberg with a taser. Nonetheless, a lot of fans bemoaned the fact that the babyface's streak had been ended, especially by Nash. In various shoot interviews since, Nash has said that fans were starting to turn on Goldberg and grow bored of him constantly winning. There's little evidence of that, and the lost winning run felt like a missed opportunity. Bobby Heenan remarked that Goldberg shouldn't have lost to someone who was already established, instead staring at the lights for someone up-and-coming.
