10 WCW Stars Who Would Have Won Money In The Bank

3. 1999 - Chris Benoit

If Chris Benoit was frustrated with his lack of major opportunities in 1998, then lord knows how the Rabid Wolverine felt in the final year of the last millennium. Benoit would almost certainly have been the favourite to win the 1999 briefcase, but it was a case of too little too late. Benoit would also successfully cash in to become the champion, but not even putting the title on him could stop Benoit leaving.

Benoit wouldn't be the only departing star involved here. Fellow Radicalz Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko would have also been in the 1999 ladder match. Less than a year later, all three men were WWF superstars, and the Monday Night Wars were as good as over.

WCW may have started wising up to the talent at its disposal by 1999, and as such the match would have been filled with supreme talent. The cruiserweights may well have gotten more opportunities, meaning Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kidman would have filled this match with incredible athleticism. Neither man would be a favourite to win, but memorable moments would have been guaranteed.

The power base would have been provided by Rick and Scott Steiner, both of whom had embarked on singles careers by this point.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
