10 WCW World Heavyweight Championship Challengers Nobody Remembers
6. Brian Knobbs - Saturday Night, 1996
He may be more widely known for his exploits alongside fellow Nasty Boy Jerry Sags and his penchant for hardcore violence, but when it came to his time spent performing under the WCW banner, Brian Knobbs was also once given a chance to take home the biggest prize in the company back in 1996.
Coming in the thick of The Giant's '96 World title reign which saw him see off the likes of Jim Duggan, Power Warrior, John Tenta, the aforementioned Booty Man, The Shark and Ice Train (I know, quite the list of scalps), Knobbs went up against WCW's latest pet project on an episode of Saturday Night on July 30. Of course, the Nasty Boy was no match for the absolute wrecking machine that was the future-Big Show at this time, lasting about two minutes before being chokeslammed into oblivion.
But he can still always say that he put it all on the line for a chance at WCW World Championship glory.
