10 WCW World Heavyweight Championship Challengers Nobody Remembers
2. Chuck Palumbo - Nitro, 2000
The last of our trifecta of long forgotten 2000 WCW World Title challengers, here we have the time a one-time Natural Born Thriller and F.B.I. member attempted to prove he was far more than simply a tried-and-tested tag team tool.
In one of the often overlooked shocks to be pulled during this routinely insane era, Chuck Palumbo was actually able to shockingly get the better of WCW World Champion Booker T. Meaning that, yes, the future Custom Chucky P was your reigning world champ... for a bit.
With Palumbo actually managing to seal the aforementioned deal with a little help from his friends (namely, Vince Russo and Kevin Nash), the controversial result was soon overturned. Then, after refusing to simply be gifted his world title back by The Cat, Booker T would go on to successfully retain his strap fair-and-square, bookending a strange ol' night all round.
That's about as close to the big time as Palumbo ever got in the wrestling business as he reverted back to being a tag team specialist and go-to jobber in the wake of this blink-and-you'll-miss-it trip to the top of the mountain.
