The marquee name for the forthcoming WWE 2K17 video game, Goldberg was the biggest star the World Championship Wrestling produced on their own. He made his debut in 1997, and would go on a legendary 173 match winning streak before Kevin Nash ended it thanks to a little help from his friends and a stun gun or whatever that thing was.

The streak began on September 22nd 1997, with Hugh Morrus being the victim. Who was next? The Barbarian was next. Who was last? Depressingly, Goldberg's last Nitro match came in a tag bout, where he teamed with DeWayne Bruce (better known as Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker) to defeat Brian Adams and Bryan Clark. Talk about underwhelming.

Interestingly, only two men were able to defeat Goldberg on Monday Nitro. These men were Booker T and Bret Hart, with the Hitman managing to do so twice.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
