Looking back, it was seem that the story arc that Diamond Dallas Page followed in World Championship Wrestling was written by a bug in the system. Rather than get caught up in the ridiculousness of what was happening around him, DDP's road from being weird undercard dude to the real People's Champion was well constructed. Sales of rip tape must have skyrocketed.

Page wrestled an impressive 125 times on WCW Monday Nitro, with his first match being a loss to Johnny B. Badd (Marc Mero) in October of 1995. In fact, Page's first three matches on Nitro were all losing efforts against Mr. B. Badd. It would only improve from there.

DDP was with the company all the way until the end, but didn't wrestle on the last episode of Nitro. His final Nitro match came two weeks earlier, in a winning effort against Rick Steiner. Just a few months later, he would be stalking The Undertaker's wife.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
