10 Weapon Fails That Totally Ruined Wrestling Matches

8. Lance Storm Can't Throw A Chair

Hardyz Table Fail
WWE Network

From one extreme to the other, if there's no correct way of smashing somebody with an unprotected chair shot to the face, there are two incorrect ways of doing it - which underscores why the spot is best left in the past.

Just look at the absolute state of Glenn Jacobs, who was rather fond of eating chairs to the skull. The byproduct of this isn't good...at all.

They say that the best wrestlers use their shoot personality to play the gimmick convincingly, and Jacobs, who played a horrific monster for decades, lives up to that maxim. Only, he was a sh*tty wrestler, so that doesn't really work.

For somebody who isn't particularly entertaining, Lance Storm is very entertaining. Not on purpose, mind you, but still. At Barely Legal 1997, he was booked to work a match with Rob Van Dam pitched as a brisk undercard workrate banger to showcase the range of the ambitious promotion and keep the show ticking along at a pleasing pace. The match pitting technical marvel against futuristic hardcore striker didn't get over however because Storm, rather conscientiously, didn't want to crack Van Dam with any conviction.

Lance Storm is harsher when penning an obit than he was working a match.
