7. Kurt Angle Is Felled By Uncooperative Table

At SummerSlam 2000, WWE presented that rarest of things: a Triple Threat match that nobody complained about as a lazy excuse to get another star in the ring to make an overdone singles match more interesting.

That's not strictly true - where WrestleMania and King Of The Ring drew more buys than the equivalent shows in 1999, SummerSlam dropped from 600,000 to 570,000 - but the addition of Kurt Angle to the mandatory Rock Vs. Triple H main event was an interesting wrinkle.

It was also a very good match - a signature Attitude Era big bombs n' brawl - before it fell apart as a result of Kurt Angle being knocked loopy when the Spanish announce table collapsed prematurely. In a strange moment of pro wrestling serendipity - in which Angle was meant to act dazed to advance a storyline in the post-match and was better able to do so as a result of the WWF's dangerously piss-poor concussion protocol - the botch actually made sense.

"Vince, Kurt is hurt for real. This could be serious."

"Seriously good, I agree! They'll totally buy it!"

Triple H clearly navigated Angle through the rest of the match, with commendable care and attention under the circumstances, but the vibe was off.
