Despite being a worldwide-recognized company, WWE’s operations and business is rooted in the United States.

Historically, the vast, vast majority of their shows have taken place in the states, with the annual traipse through Canada, Europe and occasionally in places like Asia and Australia. That has been changing recently, with WWE reaching new heights in 2023.

WWE held a record four PLEs in other countries last year: Elimination Chamber, Night of Champions, Money in the Bank and Crown Jewel. Two of the events were part of WWE’s ongoing partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while they held only their second PPV/PLE in England in the past 30 years with MITB.

This record gets mentioned for one good reason: It’s going to be broken in 2024. Already, WWE has announced three shows abroad: Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia; Backlash in Lyon, France; and Bash in Berlin in Germany. Throw in the expected two Saudi shows and that’s a new record.

Say what you will about Nick Khan, but he has definitely taken the “global” aspect of WWE literally.
