WWE has long since relied on legends and Hall-of-Famers to fill out and strengthen their WrestleMania cards, inserting the likes of The Rock, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and others into key spots on their biggest PLE of each year.

However, it might surprise some to realize that WrestleMania 39 set a record for most current Hall-of-Famers competing at a Mania in history. During the 2023 show, five HOFers – Edge, Trish Stratus, Lita, Rey Mysterio and Snoop Dogg – wrestled matches over the two nights.

Even with Edge being on several of the recent WrestleMania cards, Austin returning at the 2022 edition and Kurt Angle competing at WrestleManias 34 and 35, no prior year has reached that level. And before anyone asks, the WrestleMania X-Seven Gimmick Battle Royal, which featured a plethora of future HOFers, did not feature anyone who had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as of 2001.

Unless WWE continues to induct superstars who still have something left in the tank, it’s doubtful they’ll top this number.
