6. Mick Foley Loses An Ear - 1994

Anyone who's read Mick Foley's book knows the story of his missing ear, but that doesn't make it any less weird. In 1994, at a WCW show in Germany, Cactus Jack wrestled Vader. Unlike WWE's rings, which used (and still use) real ropes, WCW's rings used steel cables covered in rubber, and earlier in the night, Scorpio complained to the ring crew that the cables were too loose. In response, the ring crew made the cables as tight as they would go, creating a dangerous situation.

In the Vader match, Foley was thrown to the ropes, and he performed a traditional Cactus Jack spot -- he caught his head between the top two ropes and flipped over, dangling off the side of the ring. However, the cables squeezed Foley's head so tightly that he felt himself losing consciousness. Forced to extricate himself, Foley pulled with all his might... and the pressure tore his left ear off.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a simple tear -- the pressure of the cables more or less "pushed" Foley's ear off as he tried to pull his head out. As it wasn't a clean cut, the ear couldn't be reattached, and to this day, Mick Foley is missing an ear.
