The night after StarrCade 1999, the New World Order reformed on Nitro with Bret Hart at the helm and Goldberg as a target. On the following episode of Thunder, Goldberg made it his business to destroy the nWo, hunting them down one by one and taking them out.

Goldberg choked Jeff Jarrett backstage and attacked Scott Hall in the shower, but Bret managed to run out of the arena, duck into a limo, and evade "Da Man." Furious, Goldberg began to pound on another limo, pulling the driver out (rather than asking him to follow Hart) and smashing the windows. In reality, Goldberg was holding a small metal pipe in his hand and using it to shatter the windows, but when the pipe flew out of his hand, he decided to tackle the problem the hard way.

Goldberg punched one of the windows, momentarily looked at his arm, then kept pounding on the limo. In reality, he had been deeply lacerated, severing a tendon in the process. He lost many pints of blood, some of which visibly splashed onto the limo.

Goldberg was forced to miss six months of action due to the injury, but according to reports, he came close to losing his arm, so luck was on his side.
