10 Weirdest Jobs Wrestlers Had Before They Were Stars
3. The Great Khali: Police Officer
The Great Khali may have eventually made a big splash in the world of professional wrestling by chopping down the likes of Rey Mysterio, Batista and The Undertaker, but he wasn't always a formidable Sports Entertainer.
Rana started out as a security guard in Shimla, before he was eventually spotted by a police officer from the state of Punjab. This officer helped get Rana inducted into the Punjab Police in 1993. It was in Punjab where the star began to train in local gyms to become a wrestler and it wasn't long before a few U.S. promotions started to take notice of the towering police officer.
He'd eventually choose to pursue a full-time career in professional wrestling from 2000 onwards and finally showed up in WWE in 2006, becoming the first ever Indian professional wrestler signed to the company.
Remarkably, after enjoying a world title reign and becoming the 'Punjabi Playboy', Rana is actually still enlisted in the Punjabi Police Service, holding the rank of Inspector.
It's fair to say that once Officer Rana got hold of you, the chances of that criminal getting away would have been slim to none.
