2. The Entire Vince McMahon Match

2012 contained an episode of Raw which was largely based around Punk and Vince's mutual promise to beat seven shades of crap out of each other in a closing match. Being the relentless git that he was in that period, Punk began the match by characteristically jumping Vince from behind.

To be fair, this was all in the name of good villainy. It's what came next that seemed out of place. Using only his wits and apparent strength, the senior chairman proceeded to gain the physical upper hand on Punk, and even managed to give him a hearty pummeling with a kendo stick.

Punk managed to avoid the chairman's harsher attacks, mostly through cowardice, low blows, and other cheap tricks. Through and through, Vince was the better man. On one hand, it was a good show, but on the other, it was a swift way to undermine Punk's stature as a wrestler. It just didn't look right.

The whole thing was capped with that notorious and not at all kayfabe altercation with fans at the end. Some jackass repeatedly heckled Punk while he was in amongst the crowd, and the dishevelled wrestler lashed out at the wrong guy.

Not a good night.
