10 Weirdest Patriotic Moments In WWE

6. Team U.S.A. Vs. The Multinational Alliance

Just last year, WWE celebrated July 4th by cobbling together two teams mixing faces and heels, then pitting them against each other in a 16-man elimination tag match.

It was the Dudley Boyz, Zack Ryder, Apollo Crews, Big Show, Kane, Jack Swagger, and Mark Henry versus the Lucha Dragons, Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, and Alberto Del Rio.

It was probably the first time viewers had seen face/heel teams outside a Raw vs. SmackDown event since John Cena ruined the Nexus storyline at SummerSlam in 2010.

Oh, and the weirdness didn't stop there. This was also the match where Kevin Owens attacked his teammate Sami Zayn with a steel chair, and was disqualified for it. This inexplicable call from the referee was immediately topped when Kane was then disqualified for using the same chair on Owens (who, yes, was already eliminated from the match).

Eventually, the odd couple of Zack Ryder and Big Show won the bout, granting Zack Ryder his second unexpected win of the year.
