10 Weirdest Real-Life WWE Friendships

4. Rob Van Dam & The Ultimate Warrior

The Ultimate Warrior - jacked-up, face painted cartoon era wrestler who did the same routine every night. Rob Van Dam - laid back, pot smoking ECW wrestler who prided himself on coming up with new moves and sequences in every match. Friends? Apparently so. Although not best buddies, Warrior and RVD definitely used to hang out and bonded with one another sometime around 2008. Warrior was preparing a big-money one match comeback for the Italy-based company Nu-Wrestling Evolution and called RVD (who also wrestled for NWE) to train him. How did he get his number? Did Van Dam visit Parts Unknown after blazing up? Whatever the case, Van Dam began training the Warrior for his big return match (against Orlando Jordan of all people). Here's what 'Mr. Monday Night' had to say about the relationship in an interview with Wrestling 101:
He called me and wanted me to train him because he had his first match coming back in ten years and he was fifty years old. I was honoured because I was a big fan of his and we actually went to a wrestling school, so I didn't want to go to rough on him and didn't want to take a chance injuring him so we did a bit on the ropes and worked off some cobwebs. We only did it the once but talked about doing a few more times but it never happened, he did do some RVD TV for me and he was super cool.
Warrior and RVD (and Chris Nowinski) discussed the power of the human mind for an episode of RVD TV and the two could be seen talking to each other backstage at the 2014 Hall of Fame.
