No, your writer isn't talking about the unmistakable item of clothing donned by the likes of the legendary Rey Mysterio or, erm, Scrypts.

Instead WWE decided that, in the middle of a global pandemic, the wise call would be to ban the wearing of face masks whenever a performer opted to actually show up to work during the unprecedented period.

Needless to say, some performers tasked with acting as the audience during TV tapings within the Performance Center at the time were understandably a little troubled about the development, what with stars still testing positive at the time of the ban being in place.

And Kevin Owens in particular was said to be so p*ssed off by the ruling that he actually confronted Vince McMahon on the matter, with his unhappiness over how certain personnel weren't taking the genuinely concerning situation as seriously as they should eventually paving the way for the then-boss to make said items of PPE mandatory going forward.

In fact, a few weeks removed from reportedly banning face masks, it was eventually made known that not wearing one would result in a $500 fine and $1000 fine for repeat offenders.

Better late than never.
