10 Weirdest WWE Cameos By Wrestlers Before They Were Famous
3. Tommaso Ciampa - Attorney
Prior to The Great American Bash 2005, The Undertaker was embroiled in an extremely heated and volatile feud with up and coming superstar, Muhammad Hassan. However, so heated was the feud, that WWE went overboard with the pseudo-terrorist implications, causing UPN television executives to interject and demand the removal of the Hassan character from SmackDown.
As a result, Hassan was written off TV, with the disappearance disguised as a self-imposed leave of absence, willingly chosen by Hassan due to his alleged mistreatment by the American media. Instead, WWE cleverly inserted Hassan's "attorney" in his place, in order to deliver his client's messages for him.
As such, Thomas Whitney, Esq. appeared in a SmackDown ring on behalf of Hassan on 14 July. Whitney was in fact Tommaso Ciampa, and the future 'Psycho Killer' took one hell of a chokeslam for his troubles when The Undertaker inevitably hit the ring. 'Taker continued to take his anger out on his enemy's surrogate spokesman, delivering a message of his own with a huge Tombstone Piledriver for good measure.
Taking place in 2005, Ciampa appeared drastically different during this segment and looked more like Sean Penn's lawyer character in the Al Pacino movie Carlito's Way. Whether that was by design or coincidence is anyone's guess but the likeness is uncanny.
