10 Weirdest WWE Raw Main Events Ever
4. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns & Gary "The Goat" Garbutt - July 8th 2019
This one is utterly maddening.
Roman Reigns was in the midst of a feud with Shane McMahon (which is never a good start) on July 8th 2019, when the boss' son challenged The Big Dog to a tag team match to close out Raw. Shane's partner would be Drew McIntyre, whilst Reigns would be joined by... Gary "The Goat" Garbutt. Who?
Garbutt was actually a janitor who had been introduced earlier in the show and the baddies had paired him with Reigns as a way of holding him down. Then, when the bell rang and Gary got in the ring, he was actually pretty good, hitting kicks and dives all over the place to a stunned reaction from the heels.
This was great news for The Big Dog... until Gary got hit with a Claymore and pinned by Shane.
The defeated "janitor" pulled off his mask to reveal that he was actually Cedric Alexander in disguise. The cruiserweight was grinning at having deceived the baddies, despite the fact that he'd just lost Roman the match. This ending might have worked if the goodies had won, but they hadn't.
Strange. Very strange.
