10 Wild Outside Bets To Become WWE Champion

"World Bruiserweight Champion" has a certain ring to it...

It's unquestionably awesome watching a talented star gradually morph into a main event calibre worker and eventually forcing their way into title contention.

But there's also something so damn fascinating about an entirely random, out-of-nowhere push that culminates in the most unlikely of performers lifting one of the biggest titles in WWE today.

If you'd have told someone at the start of 2017 that long-time mid-carder Jinder Mahal would be your reigning WWE Champion by May of that year, for example, an understandably perplexed look would no doubt have been shot in your direction. But that's exactly what went down, and it was about as surreal as it gets.

Put simply, the land of sports entertainment will forever by the place where anything - no matter how whacky or nonsensical - can happen.

So, while the following gifted workers may not all currently jump out as the obvious choices for a WWE World Championship run at this exact moment in time, would you really be that surprised if everyone from super successful tag workers to rather cool returning stars added a top singles strap to their collection in the not too distant future?

You honestly never know in this barmy world of wrasslin', folks.

Since arriving on the main roster back in 2022, the performer formerly known as Pete Dunne hasn't exactly enjoyed a golden spell on Friday Night SmackDown.

There's definitely been a few highs sprinkled in there, for sure, with his time as part of the Brawling Brutes seeing Butch put on a few bangers against the likes of Imperium and The Bloodline. However, he's largely been used as little more than a fiery sidekick up to this point.

'The Game' has clearly always been a huge fan of the 'Bruiserweight', though, and is no doubt waiting for just the right moment to start nudging the former NXT UK Champion further up the card.

Admittedly, his chances of dethroning someone like 'The Tribal Chief' right now are somewhat nonexistent.

But if Butch were to somehow end up on the red brand in the coming months and felt like challenging whoever was holding the World Heavyweight Championship at the time, one of the strongest workers on the roster snapping his way to an unexpected victory actually feels like the kind of wild, bold move 'Papa H' would pull to both get even more eyes on the product and suddenly catapult one of his faves into the main event scene.

Hell, save it for the next UK trip and you're guaranteed a monster PAHP, too.
